Setting up and configuring the Xbox for a non-gamer (Test log and evidence)

I was recently given the task of setting up and configuring a console for a non-gamer. The tester watched me as I set up the machine.

To start off, I set up the console and made sure it was working correctly and smoothly. I did a test log showing how well the Xbox had set up.
Here is the link to the test log:

For this task I chose the Xbox 360 and Fifa 11.

Problems I have encountered whilst setting up consoles

Throughout my time being a gamer I haven't experienced that many problems. However there have been a few mishaps from here and there. I will explain what they were and how I resolved them.

One of the problems I encountered was setting up my Wii. I couldn't quite sort out the sensor properly the connection seemed rather funny as the cursor point on the screen was very fidgety and not being precise. I found out I had come across two problems. The first problem was that the calibration was faulty. I had to go into the settings and changed the settings for the sensor bar from above the television to below the television. The second problem I found was the Wii remote was low on battery so simply enough I replaced the AA batteries stored inside the remote.

Another problem that occurred was on my Nintendo DS. I had been playing on my DS for quite a while and I was enjoying playing the game one there. Overdue time I noticed when touching the screen with the stylus the touch point was different on the game to where I originally pressed. I kept having this problem and it kept getting worse over time. To sort this out I found out in the configuration settings there was a 'Calibrate' button. I had to touch 4 corners of the screen and press the center with my stylus and my screen had adjusted itself and was working again properly.

Introduction

My gaming history

My first ever gaming console was a PlayStation. One of the first few games that I played was called overboard however it was not my particular style of game that I liked. The first game that I properly enjoyed was Spyro the Dragon. Since then I have really enjoyed most PlayStation consoles and games. However, during this time also get a Gameboy Advance with the Shrek game and Pokémon Emerald. I spent many hours  playing Pokémon Emerald and since then have enjoyed playing the various Pokémon games that I have gained overtime.

Now, I mainly play PC games such as Minecraft, Portal, Bully: Scholarship Edition etc. when I get the time. However if I'm travelling somewhere I will play a few app games from time to time.
